Armys Greatest Inventions of 2010

After 10 long years of development, pre-production, full material release and final production, the M240L was recently selected as one of the Army's Greatest Inventions (AGI) Award winners for Calendar Year 2010. This award reflects well on both FNM and the Army for our successful support and dedication to the M240L program.

The M240L was nominated by ARDEC and was judged by a panel of TRADOC field grade officers and non-commissioned officers with recent combat experience as well as hands on, practical experience. The 2010 Award winners demonstrated significant impact to Army capabilities, potential benefits outside of the Army, and inventiveness. This program's unique selection process reflects the voice of the Warfighter and insight into the future of Army equipment.

The AGI awards are truly "Soldiers' Choice Awards."  After careful consideration by the evaluation panels, the M240L 7.62mm Lightweight Medium Machine Gun  was selected along with 9 other innovative inventions to receive the 2010 Army’s Greatest Inventions Awards

FNM and Picatinny were recognized at a ceremony in conjunction with the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting on 10 OCT 2011 in Washington, DC.
